Product Review & Comparison | Clinique Eye Creams

Here is a surprise post for this week! 😀

My eye area has always been a very oily part of my face, however since June my skin done a 360 on me and I was getting really dry around my eyes. I had never experienced it, there were flakey areas and my makeup was not sitting well on my skin; not a pleasant experience. Although I have always had really dark under eye circles, due to the oiliness I had never used an eye cream because I felt that it would just add to the grease and I could just cover up the darkness with makeup.

When I started to see this change in my skin I knew that I needed an eye cream of some sort but I wasn’t really sure which brand to go for or if I should go for a serum, gel, or cream. So many options!! When I was in town shopping with my sister we were in Myer and while we were in there I decided to check out the Clinique counter to see what they would recommend for my eyes. The lady was really lovely and showed me two products – All about Eyes and All About Eyes Rich. Allow me to explain the difference between the two:

Clinique All About Eyes

all about eyes

This eye cream feels lovely around the eyes. It is a very lightweight product and claims to diminish the puffiness and under-eye circles. I noticed right away a difference in my eyes. The puffiness is nowhere near as prominent as it was prior to using the cream. As for the under-eye circles, I have a very veiny eye area (one of my insecurities) so it is a little difficult to notice any drastic changes to my dark circles. In saying this, I have found that the darkness has been reduced slightly, not as much as I would have liked though but hopefully I will continue to see improvements as I continue to use this cream.

Also, this product is extremely hydrating and it instantly helped the dryness around my eyes. In addition to this, the flakiness completely disappeared about a week into using this amazing cream! As a result, my makeup now glides on super nicely on my eyes 🙂 I apply this cream in the morning and at night. I can honestly say that I am in love with this Clinique eye cream. Aaaaaand a little goes a long way, so it lasts a while!

Clinique All About Eyes Rich

I started using this eye cream as a mistake. I actually wanted to repurchase

the All About Eyes but when I asked the lady at the Clinique counter for the eye cream I had not realised that she gave me the Rich instead. I thought about returning it because I’m the kind of person, especially when it comes to skincare products, that if I find something that I really like I generally continue repurchasing the same product because I know that it does the job for me. In the end I decided to keep the Rich cream and try it out so that I could write this post comparing the two and seeing which one I liked best 🙂

Similar to the All About Eyes cream, the All About Eyes Rich claims to diminish the appearance of under-eye circles and puffs. This eye product also assists in minimising fine lines, “strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier” and “helps boost natural collagen production” ( This product is thicker and is more of a moisturising cream than a gel like the All About Eyes. In my opinion I don’t feel like it is as hydrating as the All About Eyes. You don’t have to use much of this product. I apply it to my eyes both in the morning and at night and I do like the difference that I am seeing in my fine lines on the outer corners of my eyes.

all about eyes swatch

Although Clinique suggests that both these products work well for all skin types, I would not recommend the All About Eyes cream for those who have an oily eye area because it is extremely hydrating and adds to the grease. As for the All About Eyes Rich I would agree with Clinique and say that it would work well for all skin types.

I believe that you could use these eye creams in conjunction with each other. Although they both target the reduction of puffs and dark under-eye circles the rich also helps with the fine lines and collagen production. If you were to do this I would apply the Rich at night and the All About Eyes in the morning 🙂

I really do like both these eye creams and I recommend them both 100%. However, my personal preference is the first one that I spoke about which is the All About Eyes cream. I love the fact that it is very lightweight, super hydrating and makes the skin around your eyes feel nice and fresh which assists in waking you up in the morning and soothes of a night time. I will definitely be repurchasing this one as soon as I finish the ‘Rich’.

I hope you found this post helpful if you were looking for an eye cream for yourself. Although I say that once I find something that works for me I repurchase that product, I do like to find new products! So if you have a favourite eye cream that you use, leave it in the comments so that I can give it a try 🙂

Of course I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas spending time with your loved ones ❤ I hope Santa is good to you 😉

Thank you for reading and until next time!

Product Review | Bioré Self-Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal

Here it is! A product review of the Bioré “free your pores!” mask. As you can gather from the title this mask is self-heating and you only have to keep it on for one minute and it does not harden! How cool is that?! In my eyes, it definitely beats the hardening clay masks that you have to keep on for 10-15 minutes. I don’t know why but I just cannot deal with the fact that I cannot move any muscle on my face, it freaks me out! Does this happen to any of you? Also, this skincare product also contains natural charcoal. According to “activated charcoal acts as a “magnet” in order to attract and absorb dirt and oil” from your pores.

As well as being an oil-free product, Bioré’s self-heating mask claims to “give you purified pores in just one minute” by removing the dirt and oil that are stubbornly clogging the pore’s. It also claims to work 2.5x better than a basic cleanser. Now for my opinions on the product.

I’m not going to beat around the bush so here it is… I LOVE this product. I only have one sachet left and I have already purchased another packet from my local Priceline store. When I first applied this mask I applied it wrong and I thought to myself “well this does not seem to do much for my pores but damn it makes my skin feel super fresh!” However, the second time that I used it I read the directions on the packaging PROPERLY and it worked so much better. The proper way to apply this mask is to wet your face and spread the product all over the face, avoiding the eyes and mouth of course. Once it touches water it instantly warms up feeling a little hot on your face. You are then meant to gently massage the product into your skin for one-minute. The first time I did this I did not massage the product, I only left it sitting on my face for the minute, hence why it didn’t work as well. The mask also contains grainy bits in order to exfoliate the skin also.

Once you have massaged the product around your face for a good minute (I generally leave it on for a little longer), it’s time to wash the mask off. It is a messy and thick product so I would suggest using a face towel to help remove it from your face. Honestly, when I remove this mask from my face, my skin feels absolutely amazing! It literally feels extremely minty fresh and it instantly makes me feel so good. If I have had a stressful week I will use this mask to make me feel better and to feel less stressed.

Also, this mask is meant to help remove excess dirt and oil from the pores and I can see a great difference in my pores when I use the product. There are definitely less blackheads making my face not only feel fresh, but it also makes it look nice, fresh and bright! I definitely follow up with a hydrating moisturiser to bring moisture back into my skin 🙂

I 100% recommend this Bioré product. I would use this only once or twice a week. I wouldn’t use it more times throughout the week as I feel like it would dry out your skin too much. This self-heating mask is a great pick-me-up if your feeling a little stressed, lethargic or even if you are feeling unwell.

Thank you so much for reading guys and until next time!

My Microdermabrasion & Chemical Facial Peel Experience

In my previous post I revealed to you my morning and night time skin care routine as well as my thoughts on Results Laser Clinic skin care products. This post will focus on my experience getting facial skin treatment done at Results Laser Clinic. I have not been asked to write about this, as always this is my honest opinion about how treatment worked on my skin 🙂

Throughout my teenage years I never had an issue with acne. Yes I had the odd pimple every now and then, but I never experienced the whole shebang of breakouts. However, early 2015 I started noticing breakouts on my chin and my cheeks. At first I associated these breakouts with hormones and diet (breakouts on chin = hormonal | Cheeks = diet). So for the ones on my cheeks I tried to alter my diet by cutting out greasy foods and foods that are high in fat. However, I couldn’t really do much about the ones on my chin apart from try different skin care products such as cleansers and facial exfoliants to try and get rid of the existing breakouts as well as preventing new ones from appearing. Long story short, I couldn’t find anything that would help my skin.

I noticed that these breakouts were not like the normal ones that were filled with pus (I know gross but we all get them). The ones that were appearing on my face were gross in a different way; they were green/purple marks! Unlike a normal pimple that sits on the surface of the skin, the ones I was getting were underneath the skin and they were really painful and big. After complaining about them for over a year and not going out to seek help, I decided to do something about it. I did not want to go on any medication, so instead of going to see a dermatologist I decided to head on over to Results Laser Clinic in my local shopping centre and ask them if they could tell me what was wrong with my face and if there was any treatments they recommended for me. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly which made me feel comfortable in the clinic instantly. She proceeded to inform me that I had cystic acne. Cystic acne is simply breakouts that develop deep in your skin and they really hurt.

After explaining to me what cystic acne was and how to prevent it, she recommended I have some chemical facial peels and also some microdermabrasion. At the time they had a five week package deal which included three of the chemical peels, 2 microdermabrasion sessions as well as three of the products from the Results skin care range (Active Moist, Active Cleanse, and Active Protect SPF30). You can check out my review on these products by clicking here! Honestly, I was really nervous to get these chemical peels done because they rub an acid solution on your face to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin and I was told that it burns a lot.

This acid solution is left on your face for a maximum of three minutes, however some people only last some seconds and others can last the entire three minutes. I’m not going to lie, the first peel I had done I could only leave on for about one minute and then the lady had to wipe it off because I felt like my face was on flames, but that burning sensation does not last long at all. When I went back for the other two peels I lasted the entire three minutes with no burn, only a tingling feeling. After getting a peel done they do warn you that your skin does become red, however mine was only slightly pink. Also, your skin does become flaky which is obvious as they are burning the outer layers of your skin. Literally, after each peel my face felt absolutely amazing and looked really healthy.

I have had microdermabrasion done before and I love it. For those of you who don’t know what microdermabrasion is, it is a treatment that involves an instrument that exfoliates your skin

removing dead skin cells. It also provides some suction in order to help stimulate new cells in the deeper layers of the skin. This treatment gives you healthier looking skin and also leaves your skin feeling extremely smooth and fresh. I would definitely recommend getting microdermabrasion done, especially before a special event so that you have nice glowy skin and you will find that applying makeup after will be easier and your foundation will set beautifully on your new skin 🙂

Following each treatment I would be put under an LED light, commonly known as LED Light Therapy Treatment. The light rejuvenates and helps bring moisture back into the skin. It is a fantastic treatment and I highly recommend it for all skin types. Along with these treatments I used the skin care products from Results and I continue using them to this day.

Overall, I loved the treatment I received by the ladies at Results and I could not be happier with how my skin is looking and feeling. I used to think that it was not worth getting these treatments done but my experience has changed my perspective and I would get all three treatments done again, it is definitely worth it!

Thank you so much for reading and I really hope that this post has helped, especially those of you who have been umming and ahhing about whether you should get any of these treatments done. Like I say in most of my posts, every one is different and we each have different skin so I would definitely recommend asking questions before you get any of these treatments done just in case.
