PRODUCT REVIEW | RIMMEL ‘BROW THIS WAY’ EYEBROW GEL

My eyebrows are extremely untameable! I can never get them to sit the way I want them to, I always have one hair pointing south and another one pointing north. It’s extremely frustrating especially when I get them to sit well in the morning (after a struggle) but then throughout the day I look in the mirror or take a photo and DUN DUN there is my facial compass out to play!

I was sent by Coty PR the Brow This Way Brow Gel by Rimmel. When I received it I was super excited to use it because I haven’t ever really used a brow gel before. Only when I started out with makeup I used a really cheap one from the Australis brand and I remember it seemed like it had just snowed on my eyebrows… Yes, this is why I never used a brow gel for years until I received this one in the mail!

To start off with, I like the fact that the brow gel range has a variety of shades to choose from. Therefore, whatever colour your hair, there is a gel to match. The shades are:

001 Blonde

002 Medium Brown

medium brown

003 Dark Brown

dark brown

004 Clear

clear

I received the clear gel as I am always a little hesitant when it comes to my eyebrows. Even with pencils, pomades, or any other product that is used for the eyebrows I get scared to use them. I always worry that if I get a product that is the same colour or similar to my hair that my eyebrows will look like thick dark slugs on my face. I worry about this because my eyebrows are already pretty much black and I have had a couple of incidents where my eyebrows looked a little ridiculous and I was quite embarrassed. So I am really glad that I got the clear shade as that way it just helps put the hairs into place and doesn’t add extra colour or anything else to my eyebrows.

I am actually really impressed with this product. It definitely does a great job at taming your eyebrows and keeping them in place for the day. This product doesn’t leave your eyebrows feeling hard as if you have put wax on them (like some other eyebrow products) and also doesn’t leave your brows with white snow flakes.

Another pro about this product is that it’s a great price! It’s only $9.71 (Aussie dollar) at Priceline stores. I love this product and I would definitely recommend you purchase it at your nearest Priceline or Ulta store, or whatever other store stocks Rimmel 😛

What is your favourite brow product? Let me know in the comments as I would really love to add some to my makeup collection 🙂

TRAVEL MAKEUP ESSENTIALS

And… I have already failed my April challenge! The flight was so long and tiring that when I got to Spain I zonked out immediately. I am jet lagged at the moment and it’s 2am of day 3 in Spain. Honestly, to beat jet lag the only thing you can really do is soldier on and try and stay awake until night but I just was not functioning and fell asleep at 6pm, woke up at 12:15pm and now I am awake. Hopefully I can fall asleep really soon to be ready for tomorrow because we are on the search for snow! I’m going to try and do weekly vlogs on my channel so stay tuned! The next words you will read are what I was supposed to have posted day 3 of my April challenge. I had written it last month so it was ready to go 🙂 Enjoy xx

April 3rd, 2017

Today is the day! We are leaving for Spain tonight so I’m preparing myself for the 26 hour flight! I mean, we are not actually on the plane for a whole 26 hours, but we are actually travelling for that amount of time. So 16 and a half hours to get to Doha in Qatar (obviously flying with Qatar airline) and another 8 or so hours to get to Madrid, Barajas. When my next post goes up I will be in beautiful Spain! Apparently it has been snowing so maybe with a bit of luck we get to see some snow!

I don’t know about you but I really enjoy watching and reading what makeup products people pack for their trip. I just find that it kind of gives me ideas on what to pack when I travel. I’m the type of person that ALWAYS over packs to the max so it is actually really good for me to get ideas on just the essentials to include in my travel makeup bag. In saying this, I have been getting better which is great!

Since I believe that I have improved in this aspect of packing for a trip I decided to let you guys in on what makeup essentials I will be taking with me to Spain! Honestly, it is not a big deal if I forget anything at home because let’s just be real, Spain has makeup stores just like in Australia so if I do forget anything or if I am running low on any of the products, I can always buy whatever it may be over there. However, there are some products from Australia that Spain may not have. For example, although Spain does stock Maybelline, I have not seen the Brow Satin Brow Pencil on display and this product is a MUST for me (if you have seen my Current Favourites video you would have seen this guy featured 😉 ). Therefore, this product is one that I have bought a couple of to take with me because I’m worried that I won’t find anything that I will like as much.

Let’s get into it!!

FACE:

1. Let’s just start with the product that I have mentioned already, the Maybelline Brow Satin Eyebrow Pencil. I find that this brow pencil could be a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz. I actually bought what was left of this product at the 40% Off Priceline Sale because I love it that much that I cannot leave the country without it!

2. The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. I don’t actually remember seeing this in Spain but I’m sure they do have it and I just missed it while I was there. This foundation is my all time favourite everyday foundation.

3. L’Oreal Infallible Foundation. I actually discovered my love for this foundation in Spain! I had run out of my foundation while I was over there so I decided to give the L’Oreal one a go and now it is my favourite foundation if I want to wear a little more makeup than usual, like for a night out for example. I like to take it from here so that I just have it in my colour and I don’t inconvenience myself in the first couple of days while I am jetlagged to go and buy it, but at least when I end up running out if it I can get it from there which is a plus!

4. My Australis Fresh and Flawless powder in deep natural is definitely a must! Obviously Spain doesn’t stock the brand Australis and their powder is my favourite to set my under eye area! Definitely not forgetting that one.

5. The next essential is the Rimmel setting powder in the shade translucent. Now this one is not a MUST but I like to have it with me so that I at least have one for the first week or so that I am in Spain. I have found a dupe in Spain that is the Catrice powder. I have actually posted a review of this product and brand on my blog. Here is the link to is if you are interested in reading about the brand —>> It is cheaper than the Rimmel powder and just as good!

6. BECCA Highlight in Moonstone! I love this highlight! I don’t even know if they stock BECCA in Spain! Maybe in the big cities like Madrid and Barcelona, but where I live they do not have stores like MECCA and SEPHORA which sucks big time! So I definitely have to take this one with me!

7. MAC blush in Breezy which I love! This blush is perfect for the Spring and Summer as it is Spring right now in Spain it is a thumbs up from me. Another thing with MAC is that they do not stock it near me! If I want to get something from MAC I have to travel 2-3 hours!

EYES:

1. MAC eyeshadow in Saddle comes with me everywhere I go. I don’t think I would be able to live without this eyeshadow! It’s a shadow that always gets me out of travel and I use it for me everyday makeup routine (Click here —>> “Everyday Makeup Routine” to check out my video).

2. The eyeliner that I never let myself run out of as I always stock up on it every time I see that in a few days I will not be able to keep sharpening. It is the Maybelline Master Liner in Kohl!

3. Last but not least my new favourite L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara! I don’t really have to say much about this mascara other than it is A M A Z I N G!

Aaaaaaannndd I cannot go without my Morphe brushes! Clean and ready to board the flight with me.
There you have it guys! My travel makeup essentials 🙂

I hope you guys have a great day and I’ll see you in Spain!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Powder Foundation | Product Review

Welcome back! As you can tell by the many posts, Instagram/Facebook uploads, and youtube videos, I absolutely love Rimmel product. Therefore I cannot control my excitement and happiness when I receive their products in the mail. I had received the ‘Lasting Finish 25hr Powder Foundation’ a while back and have been trialling it out. I am finally providing you guys with a review stating my honest personal opinion on the product. Here I go… rimmel One of the great things about this product is the packaging. The packaging is not bulky and/or heavy; it is easy to carry around with you in your bag. Also, you can apply this foundation wet or dry. You can apply it dry for a more light coverage finish, or wet for higher coverage. To be completely honest, I have yet to try applying this foundation wet but I will keep you updated. I have only trialled applying it dry and I will base my review on this method of application. I personally do not like to use the sponge that is provided with this foundation. I prefer to use a powder brush because I am able to blend the foundation more evenly, but this is my personal preference. On days that I am running errands, going to uni, or just feeling lazy, I do not feel like wearing heavy liquid foundations on my face or taking the time to blend them in. I really like this powder foundation because it is lightweight and I find that it blends easily and provides that light coverage for an everyday basis. For the days that I want a little extra coverage due to redness and little blemishes here and there, I find that this foundation is able to do just that, as  it claims. To be honest, my first impression of this foundation, I was a little disappointed as I didn’t see that it had covered much. However, as I was finishing the rest of my makeup and allowing the foundation to set, it warmed up to my skin tone and I was surprised to see the coverage that it provided. I wasn’t disappointed anymore!! I use the shade ‘soft beige’ and there are four shades to choose from. rimmel1 A negative in regards to this product is about its longevity. The packaging claims that this foundation lasts for 25hrs, not 24, but 25 hours! I do not agree with this claim. I find that once I finish applying my makeup, the finish of this foundation is gorgeous! However, after wearing it for several hours throughout the day, when I return home in the afternoon my face is very shiny; my T-zone especially. This doesn’t bother me too much, because once I am home in the afternoon I don’t tend to leave again, so the way my makeup looks while I’m at home after a day out does not faze me (unless I’m filming!).   Overall, I do recommend this product as an everyday foundation. I do recommend it for people with combination skin most. I really do like this foundation, I use it a lot. I give this product: 7/10!! Talia xo

The Liebster Award!

Hi lovelies! Hope you are all doing well and you are having a lovely start to the long weekend 🙂

The beautiful Megan’sBeautyBlog has tagged me in the Liebster award, so I decided to answer her awesome beauty questions. Here goes…

1. Which celebrities makeup do you admire the most and why?

It would definitely have to be JLo’s makeup! Her face is always flawless and looks fresh and dewy.

2. What is your favourite makeup product?

This question is really hard for me as I have a fair few favourite makeup products, but since this question asks for one I would have to say the ‘Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara’. It separates your eyelashes beautifully making them look wispy and it also makes your lashes look nice and long.

3. What is your favourite eye makeup look?

A nice neutral smokey eye.

4. Which celebrities hair style do you like the most and why?
I absolutely LOVE Kim Kardashian’s hair, especially when she has it loose and wavy with a part in the centre. Simple but gorgeous 🙂

5. Which clothing item are you wanting to buy right now and why?

Right at this very moment I want to buy a Blogilates tank top for working out that says “train like a beast, look like a beauty” 😀 I would like this tank top because I think it would be really comfortable and the quote is, in my opinion, motivational! (also because I’m in need of a workout top teehee).

6. What is your favourite lipstick?

Esteé Lauder’s liptstick in Pink Berry! IN LOVE ❤

7. What made you decide to start a blog?

I have always dreamt of starting my own Youtube Channel but I was always too afraid to do so and didn’t have the confidence to post videos of myself on the internet. Instead I decided to start a blog where I could post my thoughts and opinions without having to show myself on camera 🙂 But then I got the courage to start my Youtube Channel, so now I do both!

8. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Blogging allows me to share my thoughts and opinions with others that may have the same interests as me. I also love that I am able to communicate with people from around the world and learn new things everyday from reading other people’s blogs 🙂

9. If you could holiday anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Alaska! Looks like a beautiful and picturesque destination ❤

10. Which one do you like better, bronzer or blush?
Blush 🙂

Bloggers who I tag to answer my questions are:
Go Vogue Yourself
Little Bit Soph

Pearls and Paris

Blushing in Hollywood

Ramblings of Beauty, Health & Lifestyle
Nicole’s Beauty Blog

My Q’s:
1.   Who is your fashion icon and why?
2.   What is you favourite drugstore concealer?

3.   What is your everyday go to lip colour?

4.   What is your favourite foundation, high end and drug store?

5.   What is your favourite brand of nail polish?
6.   Who is your celebrity crush?

7.   What is your favourite drug store makeup brand and why?

8.   Which is your all time favourite quote and why?

9.   If you had to put only one makeup product on your face, which one would it be?
10. Why did you start blogging?

‘Pop of Colour’ Look | Collaboration with KBrightBeauty

Who doesn’t like a pop of colour? I sure do!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K7jZZ1S9QE&list=UU9rkh284mOstl0qpIzGtRew

Here I have a collaboration video with the beautiful Kali from KBrightBeauty. I created this look using the ChiChi Classics palette 🙂 I absolutely LOVE my ChiChi palette (I call it my baby – shhh this is our little secret 😉 )
I decided to go with the navy blue as my ‘pop’ of colour as I think…. well let’s just face it, I really like how it looks!

I think this colour compliments brown eyes beautifully! So if you are a brown eyed beaut, why don’t you go ahead and give this look a try. However, I do believe that this look will look really nice on any eye colour. Remember that you can change the colour to any colour that you like and that you feel most comfortable wearing 🙂

Here is a list of the products I used for this look:
– Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Liquid Foundation
– Maybelline FitMe Concealer (my absolute fav!)
– Revlon Concealor
– FOA Translucent Loose Powder (messy but really good)
– Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
– ChiChi Classics Eyeshadow Palette
– Mac Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow (I use this for my eyebrows and love it)
– Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner
– Maybelline Master Precise Black Liquid Liner
– Rimmel Accelerator Endless Mascara
– FOA Contour & Highlight Kit
– NYX Blush (Pinched)
– Lush Lip Service Lip Balm
– Esteé Lauder Lipstick (Pink Berry)
– Smashbox Lip Enhancing Lipgloss (Baby Pout)
