My eyebrows are extremely untameable! I can never get them to sit the way I want them to, I always have one hair pointing south and another one pointing north. It’s extremely frustrating especially when I get them to sit well in the morning (after a struggle) but then throughout the day I look in the mirror or take a photo and DUN DUN there is my facial compass out to play!

I was sent by Coty PR the Brow This Way Brow Gel by Rimmel. When I received it I was super excited to use it because I haven’t ever really used a brow gel before. Only when I started out with makeup I used a really cheap one from the Australis brand and I remember it seemed like it had just snowed on my eyebrows… Yes, this is why I never used a brow gel for years until I received this one in the mail!

To start off with, I like the fact that the brow gel range has a variety of shades to choose from. Therefore, whatever colour your hair, there is a gel to match. The shades are:

001 Blonde

002 Medium Brown

medium brown

003 Dark Brown

dark brown

004 Clear

I received the clear gel as I am always a little hesitant when it comes to my eyebrows. Even with pencils, pomades, or any other product that is used for the eyebrows I get scared to use them. I always worry that if I get a product that is the same colour or similar to my hair that my eyebrows will look like thick dark slugs on my face. I worry about this because my eyebrows are already pretty much black and I have had a couple of incidents where my eyebrows looked a little ridiculous and I was quite embarrassed. So I am really glad that I got the clear shade as that way it just helps put the hairs into place and doesn’t add extra colour or anything else to my eyebrows.

I am actually really impressed with this product. It definitely does a great job at taming your eyebrows and keeping them in place for the day. This product doesn’t leave your eyebrows feeling hard as if you have put wax on them (like some other eyebrow products) and also doesn’t leave your brows with white snow flakes.

Another pro about this product is that it’s a great price! It’s only $9.71 (Aussie dollar) at Priceline stores. I love this product and I would definitely recommend you purchase it at your nearest Priceline or Ulta store, or whatever other store stocks Rimmel 😛

What is your favourite brow product? Let me know in the comments as I would really love to add some to my makeup collection 🙂

PRODUCT REVIEW | Catrice Cosmetics All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder

Hey guys!

I am back with another product review post 🙂 Today I will be reviewing the Catrice Cosmetics All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder.

In my last post I provided a little overview about the European brand Catrice Cosmetics. If you would like to read more about the brand and their amazing nail polishes then click here –> Product Review | Catrice Cosmetics Nail Polishes (EU).

Let’s start by saying that I LOVE this product! I purchased this powder while I was living in Spain and I was not disappointed. The ‘All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder’ is a mattifying pressed powder. It is a fine and silky powder that glides onto your skin with ease. The company claims that it lasts up to 12 hours. I agree with this as I apply the product in the morning and it lasts a while, beginning to wear off in the evening. I have normal to oily skin and I would even say that it lasts a little bit longer than 12 hours to be honest. I really like a matte finish when it comes to face makeup so I love how this powder combats the oil really well so that there is no shine. It has an oil-free texture and leaves you with a beautiful flawless finish.

There are four shades to choose from in this range. The shades include:

  1. 010 Transparent

  2. 015 Natural Beige

  3. 025 Sand Beige

  4. 030 Warm Beige

I personally like to use translucent powder on my face, therefore I use the transparent shade. For an everyday use I set my entire face with this powder. However if I am using it for a night out, dinner or a bit more of a glam look I then use a different powder to set my highlight and under-eye concealer and then the All Matt Plus Shine Control powder for the rest of the face.

I feel like this product is comparable to the Face Of Australia Loose Translucent Powder due to the flawless finish that it provides and the silky texture of the powder. They are both very lightweight powders which make them both great to use as everyday setting powders. In saying this, you could say that the Catrice powder may combat the oil somewhat better than the FOA powder. Either way they are both fantastic products.

I definitely recommend giving the Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control powder a whirl. If you are from outside of Europe, America, Africa or Asia you can purchase these from various sites online. Catrice Cosmetics is an affordable drugstore brand so definitely give it a go 🙂

What are your favourite go to face powders?

Product Review: Catrice Cosmetics Nail Polish (EU)

Just before I left to travel overseas I had my nails done by my nail technician here in Australia. When I finished my trip around Europe and arrived in Spain my plans were to find a place to get my nails done again. Well that plan went downhill pretty quickly.

When I got to Spain I needed my nails done quick smart. From handling my luggage here, there and everywhere, up and down stairs in hotels, you could say that my nails had a rough time. I literally walked up and down trying to find a decent nail salon in various places and found one that when they told me the price I had to sit down for a bit because I started to feel a little light headed. It was so much more expensive than what I was paying here for my nails plus I was noticing that my funds due to travel were not ready for a hit like that one. I then walked past a beauty academy that charged a cheaper price (as they are students) and they offered things such as waxing, hairdressing, nails etc. So I decided to just give it a go and asked for the teacher to do my nails. She was more than happy to do them for me. Although they are cheaper due to being a beauty school I still found it to be pricey. I got my hands and toes done and if I remember correctly I think I paid about 55 euro which when converted is about $79.25. Not cheap for a school! Especially with the job she did being the teacher!!

Acrylics I got done in Spain… Hideous.

Oh and they started to fall off in the span of one week! I don’t even want to go back there… bad memories… 😦

After this experience I decided that during my time in Spain I was going to have to maintain my nails myself because I could not afford to keep getting them done, especially if I was going to get the same ridiculous claws. So I went to my favourite store in the shopping centre near where I lived called Arenal which is pretty much a Priceline however they sell drugstore as well as high end products. It’s pretty much my relaxation haven whenever I am in Spain and a financial DANGER ZONE!

A friend had told me about nail polishes that she uses all the time and that she absolutely loves. The cosmetic brand is called Catrice Cosmetics. Catrice Cosmetics is a European brand with stores located in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. I would say that this brand is a European version of Australis cosmetics here in Australia. Their products are very affordable and the few products I have tried have been pretty good quality.

Their nail polishes are GREAT! The colour intensity is amazing, not sheer at all. You only need a couple of coats along with your top and base coat and you’re good to go. They do not take too long to dry either which is a plus! I’m honestly extremely impatient so I cannot stand waiting around for nail polish to dry, so it makes me happy that I don’t have to wait too long for this one to do it’s thang. Also, the scent is not too strong either which is great because, I don’t know about you but strong nail polish scents tend to give me a headache. When reading the description online about these nail polishes the company claims that “the formulas are enriched with natural extracts that offer pampering care” which is really cool. I do feel that with the base and top coat the nail polish is long-lasting. I have tried it without both of these which is naughty of me but in my defense I was in a rush, and it does start to chip pretty quickly, so I definitely recommend using the Catrice top and base coats together with the nail polishes. I would say that these are very similar to the Revlon ColourStay Gel Nail Polishes. I feel like they have the same consistency, the same colour pay off and they same long-lasting effect 🙂

Here is my small collection of the Catrice Cosmetics nail polishes:

This Noir Bleu colour applies a lot darker than what I expected. I thought it was going to be more of a navy blue but it comes out on your nail more towards a black than anything. However, it is still a very nice colour and I really like it for the Winter.

‘For Nuts Sake’ is a gorgeous mauvey/maroon colour. I absolutely love it for the Autumn and Winter time.

‘Caught On The Red Carpet’ is a fierce red which I honestly love for any season. I’m the type of person that sees the colour red as an all year round kind of colour and this nail polish is perfect for this use.

‘Karl Says Tres Chic’ (Not sure what this name is supposed to mean haha) is such a cute baby pink colour. It’s such a pretty colour for the Spring and Summer.

nail base and top.jpg

These ones are the top and base coats that help with the gel and the long-lasting effect of all the nail polishes within the Catrice Cosmetics Nail Polish range.

One of the things I absolutely love about these nail polishes is that (apart from the blue one that I purchased thinking that it was going to come out a little more blue than it does), whatever colour you see in the bottle is the colour intensity you will achieve when you apply the polish onto your nails. I feel like with some nail polishes you do not get the same colour effect on your nail as what you see in the bottle but with these Catrice nail polishes you definitely do and that is one of the reasons I love this product so much!

If you ever find yourself near a Catrice Cosmetics stand definitely purchase one of their nail polishes (along with the top and base coat) to try out. They are cheap and great quality!

Thanks for reading! Until next time 🙂

Product Review & Comparison | Clinique Eye Creams

Here is a surprise post for this week! 😀

My eye area has always been a very oily part of my face, however since June my skin done a 360 on me and I was getting really dry around my eyes. I had never experienced it, there were flakey areas and my makeup was not sitting well on my skin; not a pleasant experience. Although I have always had really dark under eye circles, due to the oiliness I had never used an eye cream because I felt that it would just add to the grease and I could just cover up the darkness with makeup.

When I started to see this change in my skin I knew that I needed an eye cream of some sort but I wasn’t really sure which brand to go for or if I should go for a serum, gel, or cream. So many options!! When I was in town shopping with my sister we were in Myer and while we were in there I decided to check out the Clinique counter to see what they would recommend for my eyes. The lady was really lovely and showed me two products – All about Eyes and All About Eyes Rich. Allow me to explain the difference between the two:

Clinique All About Eyes

all about eyes

This eye cream feels lovely around the eyes. It is a very lightweight product and claims to diminish the puffiness and under-eye circles. I noticed right away a difference in my eyes. The puffiness is nowhere near as prominent as it was prior to using the cream. As for the under-eye circles, I have a very veiny eye area (one of my insecurities) so it is a little difficult to notice any drastic changes to my dark circles. In saying this, I have found that the darkness has been reduced slightly, not as much as I would have liked though but hopefully I will continue to see improvements as I continue to use this cream.

Also, this product is extremely hydrating and it instantly helped the dryness around my eyes. In addition to this, the flakiness completely disappeared about a week into using this amazing cream! As a result, my makeup now glides on super nicely on my eyes 🙂 I apply this cream in the morning and at night. I can honestly say that I am in love with this Clinique eye cream. Aaaaaand a little goes a long way, so it lasts a while!

Clinique All About Eyes Rich

I started using this eye cream as a mistake. I actually wanted to repurchase

the All About Eyes but when I asked the lady at the Clinique counter for the eye cream I had not realised that she gave me the Rich instead. I thought about returning it because I’m the kind of person, especially when it comes to skincare products, that if I find something that I really like I generally continue repurchasing the same product because I know that it does the job for me. In the end I decided to keep the Rich cream and try it out so that I could write this post comparing the two and seeing which one I liked best 🙂

Similar to the All About Eyes cream, the All About Eyes Rich claims to diminish the appearance of under-eye circles and puffs. This eye product also assists in minimising fine lines, “strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier” and “helps boost natural collagen production” ( This product is thicker and is more of a moisturising cream than a gel like the All About Eyes. In my opinion I don’t feel like it is as hydrating as the All About Eyes. You don’t have to use much of this product. I apply it to my eyes both in the morning and at night and I do like the difference that I am seeing in my fine lines on the outer corners of my eyes.

all about eyes swatch

Although Clinique suggests that both these products work well for all skin types, I would not recommend the All About Eyes cream for those who have an oily eye area because it is extremely hydrating and adds to the grease. As for the All About Eyes Rich I would agree with Clinique and say that it would work well for all skin types.

I believe that you could use these eye creams in conjunction with each other. Although they both target the reduction of puffs and dark under-eye circles the rich also helps with the fine lines and collagen production. If you were to do this I would apply the Rich at night and the All About Eyes in the morning 🙂

I really do like both these eye creams and I recommend them both 100%. However, my personal preference is the first one that I spoke about which is the All About Eyes cream. I love the fact that it is very lightweight, super hydrating and makes the skin around your eyes feel nice and fresh which assists in waking you up in the morning and soothes of a night time. I will definitely be repurchasing this one as soon as I finish the ‘Rich’.

I hope you found this post helpful if you were looking for an eye cream for yourself. Although I say that once I find something that works for me I repurchase that product, I do like to find new products! So if you have a favourite eye cream that you use, leave it in the comments so that I can give it a try 🙂

Of course I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas spending time with your loved ones ❤ I hope Santa is good to you 😉

Thank you for reading and until next time!

Wonder’Full Mascara with Argan Oil | Product Review

About a month ago Rimmel London AU sent me the Wonder’Full Mascara with Argan Oil to try out. This mascara claims to be a “Clump-free Volume & Definition Mascara”. I had heard many negative comments from various people about this mascara (my sister being one of these people). Everyone is different and some products may work on one person but not on the other, therefore I like to try things out for myself. So when I received this product in the mail I tried it the next day and I actually didn’t mind it at all.

This product promises: “Full, perfectly smooth, clump-free lashes”. It also claims to have an “ultra-flexy” wand that is meant to hug the lashes “defining them from the root to the tip”.

In my honest opinion this mascara does most of these things, excluding the volume part! When I apply this mascara it makes my lashes look natural with no clumps and each lash is defined, giving it a natural wispy look 🙂 In terms of volume, I do not feel like this mascara gives my lashes extra volume. This mascara is not heavy on the eyes at all and is comfortable for everyday, minimal makeup kind of days.

One of the workers at Priceline have told me that this mascara is meant to help in growing your eyelashes and making them longer due to the oil, however I have not noticed this with my own lashes.

Ok, so for those of you who are looking for a lengthening mascara, this mascara is definitely not for you! I feel like this mascara is best for making your lashes look nice and natural for an everyday application.

Overall, I do not dislike this mascara, I actually quite like it! It is nice for a change if you wear heavy mascara often. I give this product a 7/10 🙂

Killer Queen by Katy Perry | Perfume Review

One of Katy Perry’s most recent perfume, which goes by the name ‘Killer Queen’, has got to be one of my favourite perfumes! I received this as a gift for my birthday and I instantly fell in love with the packaging. The bottle in which this delicious liquid goodness is contained is shaped as a red ombré jewel with gold detailing. Along with its ever so powerful, yet sophisticated packaging, the scent of this perfume is absolutely amazing. It is sweet but at the same time this scent carries with it some kind of elegance.

It is extremely difficult to fault anything about this perfume, however, the only thing I do believe that could be slightly improved is how long the scent of the perfume stays on your skin. Don’t get me wrong, the perfume remains for quite a while, but the scent does begin to change in terms of it’s original sweetness, becoming more of a dry scented perfume. In saying this, the elegance and sophistication does remain quite nicely. Like I said, pretty difficult to find any negatives!!

In my opinion, ‘Killer Queen’ is suitable for women of all ages! So please ladies, if you can get your hands on this perfume you must try it for yourself; you will not be disappointed in the slightest 🙂
