My eyebrows are extremely untameable! I can never get them to sit the way I want them to, I always have one hair pointing south and another one pointing north. It’s extremely frustrating especially when I get them to sit well in the morning (after a struggle) but then throughout the day I look in the mirror or take a photo and DUN DUN there is my facial compass out to play!

I was sent by Coty PR the Brow This Way Brow Gel by Rimmel. When I received it I was super excited to use it because I haven’t ever really used a brow gel before. Only when I started out with makeup I used a really cheap one from the Australis brand and I remember it seemed like it had just snowed on my eyebrows… Yes, this is why I never used a brow gel for years until I received this one in the mail!

To start off with, I like the fact that the brow gel range has a variety of shades to choose from. Therefore, whatever colour your hair, there is a gel to match. The shades are:

001 Blonde

002 Medium Brown

medium brown

003 Dark Brown

dark brown

004 Clear

I received the clear gel as I am always a little hesitant when it comes to my eyebrows. Even with pencils, pomades, or any other product that is used for the eyebrows I get scared to use them. I always worry that if I get a product that is the same colour or similar to my hair that my eyebrows will look like thick dark slugs on my face. I worry about this because my eyebrows are already pretty much black and I have had a couple of incidents where my eyebrows looked a little ridiculous and I was quite embarrassed. So I am really glad that I got the clear shade as that way it just helps put the hairs into place and doesn’t add extra colour or anything else to my eyebrows.

I am actually really impressed with this product. It definitely does a great job at taming your eyebrows and keeping them in place for the day. This product doesn’t leave your eyebrows feeling hard as if you have put wax on them (like some other eyebrow products) and also doesn’t leave your brows with white snow flakes.

Another pro about this product is that it’s a great price! It’s only $9.71 (Aussie dollar) at Priceline stores. I love this product and I would definitely recommend you purchase it at your nearest Priceline or Ulta store, or whatever other store stocks Rimmel 😛

What is your favourite brow product? Let me know in the comments as I would really love to add some to my makeup collection 🙂

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Powder Foundation | Product Review

Welcome back! As you can tell by the many posts, Instagram/Facebook uploads, and youtube videos, I absolutely love Rimmel product. Therefore I cannot control my excitement and happiness when I receive their products in the mail. I had received the ‘Lasting Finish 25hr Powder Foundation’ a while back and have been trialling it out. I am finally providing you guys with a review stating my honest personal opinion on the product. Here I go… rimmel One of the great things about this product is the packaging. The packaging is not bulky and/or heavy; it is easy to carry around with you in your bag. Also, you can apply this foundation wet or dry. You can apply it dry for a more light coverage finish, or wet for higher coverage. To be completely honest, I have yet to try applying this foundation wet but I will keep you updated. I have only trialled applying it dry and I will base my review on this method of application. I personally do not like to use the sponge that is provided with this foundation. I prefer to use a powder brush because I am able to blend the foundation more evenly, but this is my personal preference. On days that I am running errands, going to uni, or just feeling lazy, I do not feel like wearing heavy liquid foundations on my face or taking the time to blend them in. I really like this powder foundation because it is lightweight and I find that it blends easily and provides that light coverage for an everyday basis. For the days that I want a little extra coverage due to redness and little blemishes here and there, I find that this foundation is able to do just that, as  it claims. To be honest, my first impression of this foundation, I was a little disappointed as I didn’t see that it had covered much. However, as I was finishing the rest of my makeup and allowing the foundation to set, it warmed up to my skin tone and I was surprised to see the coverage that it provided. I wasn’t disappointed anymore!! I use the shade ‘soft beige’ and there are four shades to choose from. rimmel1 A negative in regards to this product is about its longevity. The packaging claims that this foundation lasts for 25hrs, not 24, but 25 hours! I do not agree with this claim. I find that once I finish applying my makeup, the finish of this foundation is gorgeous! However, after wearing it for several hours throughout the day, when I return home in the afternoon my face is very shiny; my T-zone especially. This doesn’t bother me too much, because once I am home in the afternoon I don’t tend to leave again, so the way my makeup looks while I’m at home after a day out does not faze me (unless I’m filming!).   Overall, I do recommend this product as an everyday foundation. I do recommend it for people with combination skin most. I really do like this foundation, I use it a lot. I give this product: 7/10!! Talia xo

New Rimmel ‘Oh My Gloss’ Lipgloss | Product Review

Hi there!

I would like to start this post off by thanking Coty Australia for sending me these new Rimmel ‘Oh My Gloss’ lip-glosses to review 🙂

Rimmel Ohh La La

On to my thoughts!

The first thing that popped into my head when I opened the package and saw these lip-glosses for the first time was “the packaging is so cute! Simple but cute!” I was extremely excited to have received these because I am a lipgloss fanatic (ask Luke, he hates it!). Call me strange, but there is something I find extremely relaxing about applying a lip gloss to my lips… Moving on.

On a daily basis I tend to use either a lip liner with a lip gloss over the top or just a lip gloss on my moisturised lips. I find these new glosses absolutely fantastic for this purpose! They are extremely light-weight and hydrating; they are not thick and sticky compared to some other lip glosses I have used, making them feel comfortable – perfect for a chilled out day. One great plus about this product is that they contain Argan oil and vitamin E, which helps in giving the lips that bit more hydration through the gloss.

I have been trying out two really pretty colours out of the 8 shades which are called ‘Purr… Glossy Cat’ and ‘Ohh La La’. Both these colours are gorgeous; one being a more neutral tone and the other one being a little stronger in colour. Here are swatches of the two:

Rimmel Oh My Gloss

The application of these glosses has been made easy with a long soft lip applicator. The product claims to last up to 6 hours, which may be true, however I am forever eating and drinking water that I tend to have to reapply various times throughout the day haha. In saying this, when I do have something to eat/drink, I can still feel a lasting moisturising effect on my lips from the gloss which is great! Additionally, the product does have a mild scent to it – to me it mimics the scent of a lotion/hair oil, making the product smell nice and fresh. I actually quite like the scent as it is not overpowering.

Overall, I absolutely love this new range of Rimmel lip glosses and I highly recommend giving this product a go! Personally, I would definitely purchase some more from the collection, especially my current favourite being ‘Purr… Glossy Cat’ so that I can have a back-up for when I run out 😉 They are also inexpensive as I have seen them stocked in my local Priceline for around $11-$12 if I remember correctly.

I give this product: 9.5/10!!

Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Liquid Foundation | Product Review

One of my most favourite drugstore foundations on the market. Maybelline’s SuperStay 24hr Liquid Foundation is, in my opinion, a fantastic formula for combination skin. I personally find that this foundation balances out the oils from my T-zone and my not so oily cheeks wonderfully, leaving my face looking absolutely flawless!

Being a foundation of medium coverage, it is definitely buildable to a level of higher coverage. It is very easy to apply with both a dense foundation brush and a beauty blender (I personally prefer a beauty blender). SuperStay feels so refreshing and light on the face, allowing you to go about your day without the icky feeling of heavy foundation caking up throughout the day.

Find it difficult to find your true match? Well, the beauty of this product is that it warms to your skin tone. Meaning that it will set to your skin colour. Pretty cool right? WARNING: the foundation may look a little strange (darker) when you first apply it to your face, but you must let it set and work with the different tones of your skin!

A couple of negatives about this foundation:
1. SuperStay claims to be non-transferrable; I disagree. Although it did not transfer to a great extent, I did notice some of the foundation on the tissue that I used to test this.
2. I felt that the foundation began to move around on my face after a good 8-9 hours or so. Even though this time frame is fantastic for a foundation, it does not live up to its claim of 24hr wear.

I feel that the positives definitely outweigh the negatives when it comes to this liquid foundation. I have recommended this foundation to many friends and they loved it. I strongly recommend that you try this foundation and let me know what you think, yeah?
