Morning! I hope you all enjoyed reading my most recent post about self-confidence 🙂 It is such an important topic to me so if you missed it click here to take a look!

People have been asking me how my wedding planning is going and how I have been feeling etc etc. So I thought that I would provide a blog post with how I’m really feeling, what we have done and what we have yet to do.

jairo y talia sanxenxo.jpgAs most of you may know, I’m getting married on the 28th of this month, July, in Spain to my amazing husband-to-be Jairo. I am actually so extremely excited for this day I cannot even deal! My wedding is on a Friday which is not ideal as people work and many cannot come for that reason. When we were looking to reserve a place for our reception there were literally no Saturdays left anywhere! Who is crazy enough to get married apart from Jairo and I?? Just kidding! People had reserved places a year or more before their wedding! The places that did have Saturdays either did not fit the amount of people that we had invited or they were wayyyyyyyy too expensive! Either way I’m happy with Friday, I mean who wouldn’t like a 10% discount for having their wedding on a Friday… I sure as hell love it!

Invitations were a nightmare! Jairo and I went to Australia for 3 months earlier this year and we wanted to hand out the invitations to my family and friends while in Australia. To do this, Jairo’s mum had to send invitations to us through the mail. Long story short, the invitations were lost so she had to send more. The second bundle she sent arrived so we only had 1-2 weeks to hand out all the invitations in Australia before we came back to Spain. When we arrived in Spain we needed to calculate how many invitations we needed to replace the ones that were lost in the post and we had to order them as soon as we got here. When we received the new ones, the ones that my mother-in-law sent us arrived back at her house 2 weeks later! So we have so many invitations left over! Who wants to come to the wedding? 😛 Ugh, the struggle. It was extremely annoying because we had to spend a lot more money than we intended to for a stuff up that the post made! Good news, all invitations have been handed out!

Apart from the invitation dilemma, everything else has been running smoothly which is nice. This past week we went to pick up our wedding rings. They are so beautiful I cannot wait to show you guys a photo of them when I get married and have it on my finger because if I show you in the box it is not that exciting, right?

We were in two minds about having a candy bar at our reception. However, as we spoke to people about it for suggestions we have decided that we are going to have one because I know that after dinner and once people start having a few drinks usually people like to nibble, plus candy bars, if you put in the effort, can look so nice! So we ordered the candy this week also and taste tested all of them!! So bad I know but I mean we needed to know if we liked them or not and who could say no?

Here in Spain it is tradition that the bride and groom, madrina and padrino, which is. usually the mother of the groom and the father of the bride, or WHOEVER you decide to have, it is tradition that the four give out small presents to the guests. Honestly, these presents do not have to be expensive and they are only small, because let’s face it, these presents tend to never see the light of day once the guests take them home. If they don’t end up in the bin, they end up in the back of a drawer that is never opened. I won’t say what I will be giving as my presents or anyone else’s because I know that some people that read this will be attending the wedding. The only present that I can write about are my dad’s cigars because this is the norm here. I went to pick up 130 cigars and I have to stick the little stickers that come with them that have our names and the wedding date on each cigar! 130 CIGARS just in case you missed it… After the wedding I’ll definitely show you pictures of the present that I give to give you an idea if you are stuck on what to give at your wedding if this is what you do wherever you are getting married.

Col·legiata de Villafranca del Bierzo

It is great because the reception has so many things included! Cocktail before dinner for two hours in the garden, three course meal in the marquee, cutting of the cake, DJ, three open bars (a gin & tonic bar, mojito bar, and a normal bar), decor and also two hours into the dancing and drinks we get a small meal. This is awesome for the price and also so that we don’t have to go around looking and planning for more things! We have also chosen the church, the violin and flute duet that will be playing at the church, the flowers, the photographer and videographer, and the car. The only things we have left to do is the tasting of the menu, my last dress fittings, and pay pay PAY for everything!

As for how I’m feeling. I’m feeling a little nervous because I obviously want everything to turn out perfect on our special day and also I’m a little worried that I will forget things. In saying this, I have great people surrounding me so I’m sure that they all have my back to help us have the most special day of our lives 🙂 Most of all I am extremely excited! I honestly cannot wait to get married 😀

Who else is in the middle of planning their big day?

One day to go! My goodness, with the weather that we have been having lately I’m not sure whether we will be jumping on a plane to fly to Spain or hopping on a boat! It has been raining so much and there has been so much flooding. Unfortunately along with this kind of weather comes tragic accidents. I would like to take a second to send out my love and condolences to those who have lost loved ones in this dangerous weather. Also, to those who have been injured, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Since I have hardly any time left I have decided to finally start packing. Yes, I have become one of those people who put packing off until the very last minute. I never used to be like this but I feel like when you become more of a frequent traveller you start to realise that you don’t need to start packing one or two months in advance! I know, I know. From one extreme to another, right?

I am actually struggling to figure out what to take this time round. We will be in Spain for four to five months before we come back to Australia but at the same time I did leave some clothes and shoes behind. The problem is that since my memory is amazing (not) I do not remember what it was that I left over there. Maybe if I did know packing would be a lot easier so I would know what I should take and what I could get away with leaving here. Anyway, I guess I’ll just do the best that I can.

It is Spring over there and we will be there for the Summer so I’ll take some nice flowy summery dresses, playsuits (rompers), sandals, and tops. As for bottoms a couple of pairs of jeans and some shorts are perfect. Also, I’ll take a couple of jumpers/hoodies, a pair of boots and just some warmer pieces because although it is Spring, we have been told that it has been snowing and that it is pretty chilly! I hope it lasts some time so that we can experience some fun in the snow when we get there, but not too long after we get there because I am really craving the warm weather and laying down near the river in my swimmers reading a book! That’s not too much to ask is it?

Also, a couple of very important pieces that I MUST take with me are my wedding shoes!! I cannot forget those hahaha They will be featured in a video I have coming up this week 🙂

Tomorrow’s post will be focusing on my makeup essentials that I will be taking with me to Spain! So stay tuned, and follow so that you are updated as soon as I post it!

I had in mind of filming a packing video for you but I have run out of time and am unable to. I’M SORRY!

Just a bit of an update about how I’m feeling now that it is so closer to the day. I am feeling nervous! I left Spain unwell and on a bit of a negative note last time, so the feelings that I experienced then have been kind of engraved in my brain. However, I’m trying to keep an open mind and enjoy the time that I am there. I have made a couple of friends (finally) so I am actually very excited to see them, and my family of course 🙂 I’m definitely not looking forward to the plane! 26 hours is not fun in a plane. Ok, the first few hours are ok but then you start feeling a little like Sharon from Kath & Kim in the episode when she is stuck in the sauna and is screaming “LET ME OUT!” For those of you unsure what Kath & Kim is, it is an Australian TV comedy series. It’s stupid but funny because of how stupid it is! Haha

Make sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep updated with my uploads also! There are new videos up! I just uploaded my first STORYTIME VIDEO! It’s pretty funny! If you are interested in watching click here –>> VICTORIA BECKHAM HAIR CUT GONE WRONG!

Welcome back!

I’m so excited to be writing! I have decided to write a post Every. Single. Day. For the month of April! I’m not sure how I will go as I have never done something like this before but I am keen to try. I know I haven’t been as active on my blog as I maybe should be and there really is no excuse (apart from planning something really exciting which I’ll get into further along, so keep reading! 😀 ).

Since I have my channel on Youtube, my Spanish blog, and the blog that you guys are on right now, I find that whenever I am focusing on one site and attempt to introduce another site at the same time, I feel like I find it difficult to keep up with both let alone three and I become extremely overwhelmed! If you have multiple blogs or youtube channels, let me know if you ever feel like this! In saying this, I want to make it a goal of mine to focus on ALL THREE because it is something that I absolutely love doing and I love interacting with all my followers on each individual site. I feel as though I am starting to become more organised and I’m ready to take on this challenge. I have so many things to share with you guys and I am so excited to start!

Without further adieu, let’s get into the nitty-gritty!

Welcome to my first post of my April challenge. I just wanted to come on and give you guys a bit of an update of what has been happening with me these past few months.

Let’s start with some upcoming travel! There are only TWO DAYS left until I leave for Spain. As you know I was living over in Spain for 6 months up until December last year and had to come back home (Australia) for my health. My fiancé and I have been in Australia for three months and I have been feeling much better and enjoying the most of what beautiful Australia has to offer in the time that we have been here. This was the first time my man has left Europe so we definitely tried to see as much as we could in the little time that we had here and in between my not so good days. He has really enjoyed it which is fantastic!

Also, I have posted a couple of pictures on my Instagram (@talia_aus) with captions stating that my wedding is literally in FOUR MONTHS! Like seriously?! I cannot believe how fast time flies by! To say that I am excited is an understatement! So as you can imagine I have been planning the big day, running around doing what us girls do best, SHOP! I have ordered my dress in Spain and it is absolutely gorgeous! I cannot wait to put it on again! Every time I try it on I cry haha. I have also bought my wedding shoes from the Novotel Boutique here in Wollongong, Australia. Yes, the wedding will be taking place in beautiful Spain; in the amazing Spanish Summer ❤ I am really looking forward to saying ‘I DO’ and becoming a wife to my best friend!

While I am in Spain I am planning on seeing beautiful places and I will be vlogging these so that you guys can enjoy these places with me. I think it will be really fun to vlog again! I have not vlogged in public for so long so I’m nervous and excited to whip my camera out and share my experiences with you all. I’ll also bring you guys along with me while I choose the flowers for mine and my sisters bouquet and possibly some other bits and pieces. Please send me any ideas of some flowers that you think would be beautiful for my bouquet. The colour scheme is white and blush pink with a hint of green 🙂 Leave some pictures in the comments for me! xx

Ok, I think I have covered everything for now! I’m excited to post for you guys tomorrow so stayed tuned and don’t forget to follow to keep updated with my daily posts! Love you all ❤
